From our friends at Hilos y Colores, a social enterprise in Ayacucho, Peru since 1995. The goal of Hilos y Colores is to preserve ancestral textile techniques and support artisan communities. With its network of 800 artisans in 30 communities, Hilos y Colored produces custom designed woven, knit, embroidered, and crocheted home and fashion accessories for ethical brands around the world. We are pleased to share that Peregrin is the only shop in Massachusetts carrying product from Hilos y Colores!

Hilos Y Colores instructs women to embroider as a supplemental income in their homes. Founder of the program, Mercedes, explained to me that the women were so successful that in some instances, they out-earned their husbands!
